Project: Architecture Heritage Building Analysis
The building assigned to my group is the Headquarters of Federated Malay States Railways building. It is now housed by the National Textile Museum. We have visited to the building to get more information of it and also have our first visit experience to a textile museum. We went to a library inside the building to get more informations about the building. We have contacted with the webmaster of a government website which given information about the building to get more informations as references.
We have studied the function of the building to serve the community within its vicinity. From our observations on site, we also identified the different architectural elements that have been adapted to site to best serve the practical and functional needs of the local community. We made comparison between the building and another similar type Western building St Pancras Station. After all, we came out with a report.

Each of us were then created an analysis board about the building. I was assigned to do the analysis board about the changes of the Headquarters of Federated Malay States Railways.

Throughout this project, I have learned that the importance of teamwork and also as a leader of the group I have learned how to communicate with each group members where different people have different opinions. I also learned that we must not be shy to learn new knowledges, do not hesitate to ask people around and ask for help if you are in need. I also learned more about architectural elements by differentiating them. Besides that, I learned how the local climate might affect the design.
I am glad to do this project to get to know more about the heritage building in our own country.
