In this projetc, we are assigned to further develop the design for Visitor Interpretive Centre (VIC) that we have made in the previous project with the design concept. We have to propose a design scheme which response to the site, functional program and users' experiences. We have to select and consolidate initial design ideas and develop it by producing schematic plan and section and digital model. The schematic should respond to the physical site context and functional requirements. We are to consider and develop the primary circulation of the visitor through the architecture. At this point, we should be able to develop the design work by integrating thermal comfort considerations for Building Science 1 project 2. Other than that, we have to generate design through conscious consideration of human scale, natural light, materials/texture and user experiences. We have to consider the flow of experience which is the flow of space, transition spaces, the variation and hierarchy of spaces, inside and outside relationship, manipulation of light, texture and materiality and scale and proportion. 

 

I have designed the VIC based on the design concept Desire. The inspiration comes from the small openings on a building in Pulau Jerejak. It was designed as a form of perspective view which has a view point extending outwards.
